The marine layer is the Bay Area's daily magic trick. Some evenings it pours over the Marin Headlands like a waterfall in slow motion; on the best ones, sunset turns the whole thing to cotton candy. Most of these photographs were made from ridgelines above the fog, looking back toward the city — including Bay Bridge Dreamscape, which is still my favorite picture I've taken of San Francisco.
